Welcome to AppliedSEO Jason.

I am convinced your incite and perspective on this business is in perfect tune with the goals of this website. Your voice will probably be a welcome break from my "deep dive geek speak" for some. :)

You are so right about the task of managing the convergence of SEO and the other divisions of web development. Each has its own stake and responsibilities and they tend to clash at times. The good SEOs out there know this and try to work with departments to achieve mutual satisfaction. Most of the time this is mainly a educational process, an approach of "Do This or Fail" is more likely to cause problems than get results.
