SES Conference Changes Owners … Again

SiteProNews is reporting the sale of Incisive Media which owns the SEO industries largest conference Search Engine Strategies. The reported $375 million price was paid by Apex Partners, a private holding company with its hand in over $20 billion worth of investments.

The sale comes at a pivotal time for the industries best know conference. Recently, conference founder and figure head Danny Sullivan announced he would not be renewing his contract with Incisive. His departure from the conference he created had already a stir about the viability and future of the conference. This newest announcement is sure to add fuel to that fire.

My Session at SES San Jose

I recently spoke at the SES conference and was fortunate enough to have a few minutes to speak to the conference organizers while waiting in line to go to the Google Dance. They were very happy with the turn out and the over all presentation of the show. I got the impression they were very pleased with how the show was going. The San Jose show may well be the last of the big shows as we know them. While there are no announcement of changes, the absence of Danny Sullivan and yet another change of ownership is bound to have an effect. I am currently in talks to speak once again at SES New York next year. It’s going to be interesting to see the differences.
